chess boy

The boy likes games. Of that I am sure. And he picks them up really quickly as well. Am I thrilled that he’s on a chess kick? Not really. I’ve never been much of a chess player. But it’s always fun to see him get excited about something. And it’s nice that I get to play to lose because then I don’t have to feel bad about the fact that I can’t even win a game of chess against a 4-year-old.

I would challenge Simon to a game, but I’m too afraid that I would lose. Even trying.

My favorite type of chess game to play with my kids (who love chess and I don’t) consists of TRYING to get all of your guys captured! I can usually hold my own.

I LOVE chess! Not that I’m all that great at it, but I absolutely love it. Anytime you want someone to play with Simon, just send him over to Hershey. :0)

Funny thing. We were watching Monk the other day and it was a chess episode and I remember thinking that when/if Simon discovered chess he’d be really into it. Not to mention really great at it. He’s welcome to play Jon anytime, and I’d love to watch. :)
