We have enough interest that the Peep Show will go on! It will be smaller than previous years, but that is okay. :)
All-O-ver, Ol-i-vore . . . we're learning that Oliver's name has some fun mispronunciations.
Also, ask him what is name is and this is what you'll hear: "My name is Oli . . . Oli . . . Oliv . . . Oli . . . I don't know."
Here I am at SFO. Again. What should have been a 40 minute layover has turned into a 5 hour layover with merely a possibility of getting on the red-eye at 10:30. Flying standby. And if I don't get on the standby flight . . . they tell me my next shot at JFK isn't for 24 hours. Yeah. So let's hope that doesn't happen. And if I don't get on standby, well, there's got to be another way home.
S: Oliver, Is Mom a child of God?
O: Yes!
S: No, Mom is a grown up!
The one night -- ever -- when Micah and I get to bed at 10:00 and could, feasibly, get 9 hours of uninterrupted sleep, Simon wakes up crying inexplicably at midnight and can't go back to sleep, Oliver falls out of bed, and we're all out a couple of hours of sleep. Clearly we need to never try to go to to bed early. It's the only way to get a good night's sleep around here.
Oliver got a ribbon for letting Simon push him in the stroller during the PeeWee race at Miles for Midwives this morning. Simon got a ribbon for pushing Oliver in the stroller during the PeeWee race. I got a medal for winning the women’s race. Micah got a medal for winning the stroller division. Micah also got a medal for winning his age group (he got 5th overall). I think I got 7th overall. Not a bad haul for a sunny Saturday morning. We warmed up with a run to the park, played an hour of fairly casual Ultimate, and then ran the race. Our times weren’t too bad. Micah finished in 20:30 and I finished in 20:45.
We’re pretty happy about it. Well, except that I got beat by a guy pushing two kids in a double stroller. But he’s so handsome that I forgive him.

Congratulations!!!! You just blew my best 5K time out of the water by 20 seconds. I’m pretty jealous. That 21 min barrier eluded me all through high school. I’m so impressed! Especially to think you did that all with your own will and training. What a fit and fabulous family.
I love that Oliver is sleeping. Ü Congrats again!
I love it, too. He’s so cute when he’s sleeping.
20 seconds hardly sounds like blowing out of the water. There’s still time before you hit your peak . . . I think you can still break through that barrier.
So fun! Sounds like a great day for the family. I’m running my first race (only 6 miles) next Saturday! No aspirations for placement of any kind, just that they don’t have to scrape me off the trail with a spatula. Wish me luck!
