We have enough interest that the Peep Show will go on! It will be smaller than previous years, but that is okay. :)
All-O-ver, Ol-i-vore . . . we're learning that Oliver's name has some fun mispronunciations.
Also, ask him what is name is and this is what you'll hear: "My name is Oli . . . Oli . . . Oliv . . . Oli . . . I don't know."
Here I am at SFO. Again. What should have been a 40 minute layover has turned into a 5 hour layover with merely a possibility of getting on the red-eye at 10:30. Flying standby. And if I don't get on the standby flight . . . they tell me my next shot at JFK isn't for 24 hours. Yeah. So let's hope that doesn't happen. And if I don't get on standby, well, there's got to be another way home.
S: Oliver, Is Mom a child of God?
O: Yes!
S: No, Mom is a grown up!
The one night -- ever -- when Micah and I get to bed at 10:00 and could, feasibly, get 9 hours of uninterrupted sleep, Simon wakes up crying inexplicably at midnight and can't go back to sleep, Oliver falls out of bed, and we're all out a couple of hours of sleep. Clearly we need to never try to go to to bed early. It's the only way to get a good night's sleep around here.
I don’t know if I would say he is “trained,” but he hasn’t had an accident in several days and we have braved public transportation without the crutch of a diaper a couple of times.
If I were the type of mother who posted pictures of my mostly nekkid child, I would post a picture of Simon in his fancy-schmancy underpants, but I’m not that kind of mother, so you’ll just have to imagine the cuteness of such a thing.
Trust me. It’s really cute.
Wow, that's a huge accomplishment!! We've just barely started to work on potty training, which is to say Samuel has sat on his potty a few times. I can't wait until he doesn't need diaper changes, but I'm hesitant to push him and I don't think he's quite ready yet. Maybe, though, if I tell him that Simon is wearing Big Boy Underpants, Samuel will be ready sooner?? ;0)
Congrats!
Congratulations Simon!! That's huge! I knew you could do it! Ü
That's my little nephew. All growed up and wearing big-boy underpants.
Yeah, it's good that we have come so far. And someday I will be able to get on the train or bus with him and not be trying to figure out what I'm going to do if he has an accident or be praying that he'll be able to hold it until we can find a restroom.
LOL. It is seriously the cutest thing ever when kids make that crossing. Well done, Simon, well done.
I still remember being bemused that the first time Neils was FINALLY willing and able to do his business in a "public" restroom was at your wedding. Thanks guys.
