We have enough interest that the Peep Show will go on! It will be smaller than previous years, but that is okay. :)
All-O-ver, Ol-i-vore . . . we're learning that Oliver's name has some fun mispronunciations.
Also, ask him what is name is and this is what you'll hear: "My name is Oli . . . Oli . . . Oliv . . . Oli . . . I don't know."
Here I am at SFO. Again. What should have been a 40 minute layover has turned into a 5 hour layover with merely a possibility of getting on the red-eye at 10:30. Flying standby. And if I don't get on the standby flight . . . they tell me my next shot at JFK isn't for 24 hours. Yeah. So let's hope that doesn't happen. And if I don't get on standby, well, there's got to be another way home.
S: Oliver, Is Mom a child of God?
O: Yes!
S: No, Mom is a grown up!
The one night -- ever -- when Micah and I get to bed at 10:00 and could, feasibly, get 9 hours of uninterrupted sleep, Simon wakes up crying inexplicably at midnight and can't go back to sleep, Oliver falls out of bed, and we're all out a couple of hours of sleep. Clearly we need to never try to go to to bed early. It's the only way to get a good night's sleep around here.

Writing this post for oliofolio. It’s been something I’ve been thinking about a lot lately, and it tied in nicely with this week’s theme. Check it out and let me know what you think and feel free to share your own fears/worst nightmares that come with the parental territory.
Making a nursing cover.
It seems like it wasn’t until Simon was practically weaned that I started seeing these around and I became quite jealous but didn’t have the time to make one back then. But now I do, so I did it. I used a tutorial from here. Micah helped me pick the fabric. And I love the tiger flannel in the corners to use as pockets (for nursing pads or whatever) as well as a to wipe the baby’s mouth with.
And finally, I got my haircut again. Last week was haircutting week at our house. I cut Simon’s hair on Tuesday, Micah’s hair on Wednesday, and then a friend came over on Thursday and cut mine. I’ve given it a week and decided it is the best thing ever.

Excellent article on Oliofolio. I can totally relate, too – recently my big fear has been of Samuel drowning. I think I've had at least three dreams in the last week or so about him falling into water… Big, deep breaths…
I like the haircut. For some reason I always hate my haircuts until I've had them for about a week. I guess you just have to get used to it.
Your nursing cover is awesome. Do you guys have a sewing machine? That's probably a ridiculous question, but I had to ask. Ü And I LOVE your hair! Jess has been regretting her hair cut- it's shoulder length- and I think it's adorable!
P.S. I just read your article and you are an amazing writer, in case you didn't know! Ü I have nightmarish thoughts about Simon, and something horrible happening to him. I can't imagine what a wreck I'll be with my own kids… Anyway, just wanted you to know that your article was beautifully written and so real!
