We have enough interest that the Peep Show will go on! It will be smaller than previous years, but that is okay. :)
All-O-ver, Ol-i-vore . . . we're learning that Oliver's name has some fun mispronunciations.
Also, ask him what is name is and this is what you'll hear: "My name is Oli . . . Oli . . . Oliv . . . Oli . . . I don't know."
Here I am at SFO. Again. What should have been a 40 minute layover has turned into a 5 hour layover with merely a possibility of getting on the red-eye at 10:30. Flying standby. And if I don't get on the standby flight . . . they tell me my next shot at JFK isn't for 24 hours. Yeah. So let's hope that doesn't happen. And if I don't get on standby, well, there's got to be another way home.
S: Oliver, Is Mom a child of God?
O: Yes!
S: No, Mom is a grown up!
The one night -- ever -- when Micah and I get to bed at 10:00 and could, feasibly, get 9 hours of uninterrupted sleep, Simon wakes up crying inexplicably at midnight and can't go back to sleep, Oliver falls out of bed, and we're all out a couple of hours of sleep. Clearly we need to never try to go to to bed early. It's the only way to get a good night's sleep around here.
We’ve spent the last several days painting. Simon’s bedroom and the bathroom are pretty much done. The living room is more than halfway there. And our room and the kitchen have a long way to go. But here is a picture of Simon’s room as it is. Micah designed the stenciling on the wall. Each room will have something different stenciled in it.
I admit I was a little bit worried about Simon having his own room, but he seems to be transitioning to it just fine. The first few nights were a little rough, but I think that had more to do with adjusting from going to bed at 10:00 Utah time to 8:30-9:00 New York time. And I have to say that even though it was really sad to hear him crying one night, it was also nice to be able to hear him calm down a few minutes later without having to go in and try to get him to go back to sleep.
Wow, that’s so exciting!! Sometimes I wonder what it would be like to have Samuel in his own room, and it always feels like a wonderful but scary dream all at once. I’m glad to know it’s doable. ;0)
Yeah, for having two bedrooms. It looks really good. I’m really excited to see the rest of your house.
Cute room! Having two rooms is nice. Even though Sawyer sleeps in our room (for now) it’s nice to have his own room to keep all of the other stuff, and a place where we can play on the floor and not have to trip over stuff in our own room! The tricky thing for me right now is teaching him to nap in his crib…
Hooray for more space! He even has his own bathroom? Rock on. I am so glad to hear he’s settling into his own room so well. *sigh* Things just keep getting better and easier from there.
Groovy stenciling Micah! Can’t wait to see the rest of the place.
you guys know how to get a job DOOONNNNEEE. it looks awesome. and Simon is so lucky to have his own room. my family of four still sleeps in the same king sized bed together. true story.
Oh, he definitely does not have his own bathroom. Unless you count the one that he wears all the time and has to be changed several times a day. No, sigh, I’m afraid it will be many, many, many years before we’re able to run with the “two bathroom” crowd.
That looks incredible. You guys are awesome and so creative! Nice job with the stenciling Micah! I’d be happy with a room like that! Ü I look forward to seeing pictures of the other rooms in the near future.
Love the stenciling. And the rugs. You guys sure have good taste.
