We have enough interest that the Peep Show will go on! It will be smaller than previous years, but that is okay. :)
All-O-ver, Ol-i-vore . . . we're learning that Oliver's name has some fun mispronunciations.
Also, ask him what is name is and this is what you'll hear: "My name is Oli . . . Oli . . . Oliv . . . Oli . . . I don't know."
Here I am at SFO. Again. What should have been a 40 minute layover has turned into a 5 hour layover with merely a possibility of getting on the red-eye at 10:30. Flying standby. And if I don't get on the standby flight . . . they tell me my next shot at JFK isn't for 24 hours. Yeah. So let's hope that doesn't happen. And if I don't get on standby, well, there's got to be another way home.
S: Oliver, Is Mom a child of God?
O: Yes!
S: No, Mom is a grown up!
The one night -- ever -- when Micah and I get to bed at 10:00 and could, feasibly, get 9 hours of uninterrupted sleep, Simon wakes up crying inexplicably at midnight and can't go back to sleep, Oliver falls out of bed, and we're all out a couple of hours of sleep. Clearly we need to never try to go to to bed early. It's the only way to get a good night's sleep around here.
It’s been a while since we had a good excuse to get together with family and friends and throw a party that is entirely unnecessary but fun nonetheless. Simon’s birthday provided the much needed excuse. We went with the 1-year-old luau theme because the child was born in Hawaii. The weather was wonderful, the company was wonderful, the food was wonderful and the pictures speak for themselves:
Love the cake! You did an awesome job! And I love that he got so plumb worn out that he just crashed. Too funny!
Excellent pics, and a great party! Thanks for everything, we had a blast. :0)
Happy Belated Birthday to Simon. That Luau looks like it was a real blast.
I’m tellin’ ya. Even when the kid is dirty, asleep, or upset he looks like a model.
Those invitations are pretty sweet. Do you print them yourself?
i love the picture of him sleeping with dirt all over him…you’re only young once – better enjoy that opportunity to be dirty and socially acceptable! lol!
such a range of emotions in those photos- looks like the perfect day!
Looks like so much fun – you have one cute boy there – Happy (belated) B-day to Simon!
what a cute kid and a fun party!
looks like a blast. great cake and i dig the shirts. kids have a special talent for providing excuses, don’t they?
So fun! I’m glad to see he got a much-deserved birthday bash for the big numero uno. Kids and dirt. What could be better?
Happy Birthday to Simon! He is absolutely adorable, and I think he looks exactly like Lizzie! So cute!
I love how happy and dirty and then sleepy he is. what a fun first birthday!
