We have enough interest that the Peep Show will go on! It will be smaller than previous years, but that is okay. :)
All-O-ver, Ol-i-vore . . . we're learning that Oliver's name has some fun mispronunciations.
Also, ask him what is name is and this is what you'll hear: "My name is Oli . . . Oli . . . Oliv . . . Oli . . . I don't know."
Here I am at SFO. Again. What should have been a 40 minute layover has turned into a 5 hour layover with merely a possibility of getting on the red-eye at 10:30. Flying standby. And if I don't get on the standby flight . . . they tell me my next shot at JFK isn't for 24 hours. Yeah. So let's hope that doesn't happen. And if I don't get on standby, well, there's got to be another way home.
S: Oliver, Is Mom a child of God?
O: Yes!
S: No, Mom is a grown up!
The one night -- ever -- when Micah and I get to bed at 10:00 and could, feasibly, get 9 hours of uninterrupted sleep, Simon wakes up crying inexplicably at midnight and can't go back to sleep, Oliver falls out of bed, and we're all out a couple of hours of sleep. Clearly we need to never try to go to to bed early. It's the only way to get a good night's sleep around here.
So, I hope I am not airing my dirty laundry when I say this, but I am definitely a Sunday blogger. I try to keep up with all of the blogs in our growing link list during the week, but it seems that I never really have time to sit down and enjoy them until Sunday. I think blogs are a great way for people who are bad at letter writing, email writing, phone calling, etc. to keep up with friends and family and I think that that is an appropriate Sabbath activity even if it does involve technology and electricity.
And in an effort to make blogging easier and more fun (and more spiritual?) I have figured out a couple of things today.
1. We now have an RSS feed. We have gotten a couple of requests for this, but I haven’t been able to figure it out until now. Actually, the problem is not entirely figured out, but I did make a work around. So, for all of you feed readers out there I made a link on the very bottom of our left hand column. Just click on the “the Green Wallet” link under RSS Feed and it should bring up our feed. If you use Google Reader or something similar it should automatically ask you to add it. If not, you may need to copy and paste the URL into your application of choice. Let me know if you have any problems.
2. Google has added a new cool little function to Blogger. Whenever you make a comment on a Blogger blog it gives you the option of checking a box that says, “Email follow-up comments to _______”. If you check this and enter your email address then it will send you an email any time somebody else has added a comment to that post. This is really cool because it helps make the comments more like a conversation rather than random statements. You can even click on a link on the email and it will take you straight to the comments area of the post so that you can comment on the comment that was just made. You won’t get any spam from it, it is post specific and you can unsubscribe form that post any time you want. Pretty cool.
Anyway, I hope you find this useful. Thanks for visiting our blog. Thanks for having great blogs to visit. And thanks for not judging me.
See you next Sunday.
The RSS feed worked for me! Thanks!
I think blogging is a great Sunday activity. You know, it would be awesome if on Sundays we could just come over, have a cup of cocoa, and chat. But we can’t. Instead, we blog. And I think there’s nothing wrong with that.
