We have enough interest that the Peep Show will go on! It will be smaller than previous years, but that is okay. :)
All-O-ver, Ol-i-vore . . . we're learning that Oliver's name has some fun mispronunciations.
Also, ask him what is name is and this is what you'll hear: "My name is Oli . . . Oli . . . Oliv . . . Oli . . . I don't know."
Here I am at SFO. Again. What should have been a 40 minute layover has turned into a 5 hour layover with merely a possibility of getting on the red-eye at 10:30. Flying standby. And if I don't get on the standby flight . . . they tell me my next shot at JFK isn't for 24 hours. Yeah. So let's hope that doesn't happen. And if I don't get on standby, well, there's got to be another way home.
S: Oliver, Is Mom a child of God?
O: Yes!
S: No, Mom is a grown up!
The one night -- ever -- when Micah and I get to bed at 10:00 and could, feasibly, get 9 hours of uninterrupted sleep, Simon wakes up crying inexplicably at midnight and can't go back to sleep, Oliver falls out of bed, and we're all out a couple of hours of sleep. Clearly we need to never try to go to to bed early. It's the only way to get a good night's sleep around here.
Here is what he looks like:
And here is what he looks like while giving us the evil eye:
And this is his drawer:
More to come.
He is adorable! He looks great! I am so proud of you! You are amazing! I can’t wait to meet him in person…and would you let me know when I can get the OK to come over, I wanna come see him!
AAAHHH!! He’s SO cute!!! I’m so mad that I can’t see him until July. “That is one mean white look . . . “
What a cutie! Congrats you guys- let us know when your up for visitors.:)
I find it interesting that on your last post you said “it could be tomorrow for all I know”. Were you having contractions at that point?
I can’t believe you guys are home already! Although with my first, I think I went home as soon as humanly possible too. These days, I take every last hour I can get. I have to say, he looks a little poly! I guess the Island’s wearing into you two…
How did you do, Lizzie? I’m one of those crazy women who loves to hear birth stories. Are you recovering well? Still feel like you’ve been hit by a ton of bricks? We are SO jealous of all these people who get to meet him before we do. We love you guys. Look forward to seeing you all in Indiana!
What an adorable little guy!! You must be having so much fun with him!! Please give him an extra hug for me — and thanks for sharing the pictures so quickly. Grandma Holben says HI and congratulations, too.
Love, Mom Heiselt
I can’t believe that I had to wait all day to finally get a computer to check your blog! I have been wanting you to post pictures for forever!
I agree with Missy–my first thought was that he looks a little Poly. How interestingly adorable!
I actually see a lot of Lizzie in him–though he definitely has Micah’s angry eyes.
Maybe it’s Lizzie’s siblings that I can see?
So so cute, and I am so sad that I can’t be there holding him right now. Please take a lot more pictures because I don’t think I can get enough of him. I am so glad he’s here and I can’t wait to meet him!!
And I like his drawer.
what the what the?!
how did this happen?
did not see this coming, very alarmed, but more importantly—why isn’t the picture i gave you above his drawer–bad joke,
this is a time for congratulations- this is incredible! i’m so happy for you two. when can i bring over dinner? seriously. micah, call me, instruct me, i’m ready. and if you don’t, i’ll just appear one day.
and for the record, i think simon is a little micah all the way. i dare you to compare baby pictures and prove me right
Glad to see you are carrying on the family tradition of putting your wee ones in a drawer. Felicitaciones, he’s beautiful (even if you didn’t name him after me).
He has Lizzie’s slanty eyes, Micah’s vuloptuous cheeks, and my middle name.
