We have enough interest that the Peep Show will go on! It will be smaller than previous years, but that is okay. :)
All-O-ver, Ol-i-vore . . . we're learning that Oliver's name has some fun mispronunciations.
Also, ask him what is name is and this is what you'll hear: "My name is Oli . . . Oli . . . Oliv . . . Oli . . . I don't know."
Here I am at SFO. Again. What should have been a 40 minute layover has turned into a 5 hour layover with merely a possibility of getting on the red-eye at 10:30. Flying standby. And if I don't get on the standby flight . . . they tell me my next shot at JFK isn't for 24 hours. Yeah. So let's hope that doesn't happen. And if I don't get on standby, well, there's got to be another way home.
S: Oliver, Is Mom a child of God?
O: Yes!
S: No, Mom is a grown up!
The one night -- ever -- when Micah and I get to bed at 10:00 and could, feasibly, get 9 hours of uninterrupted sleep, Simon wakes up crying inexplicably at midnight and can't go back to sleep, Oliver falls out of bed, and we're all out a couple of hours of sleep. Clearly we need to never try to go to to bed early. It's the only way to get a good night's sleep around here.
I opened up my e-mail today to find that Indiana University has accepted me. Hooray! I wasn’t expecting an e-mail, but I’m glad it was a good one . . . it could have ruined my whole day. The funny thing is that they said they could have let me know way back in December or January when my application was finished, but since they didn’t match my GRE scores up with my application, it has taken all the way until now. Oh well. We are thrilled to have another option, but are still waiting for NYU’s decision. Keep your fingers crossed for us!
Yay!!!! I have been checking your blog every day since you opened your last envelope. I am so excited for you!!! Two down, one to go!!!! You are awesome! Thanks for keeping us all posted. You are the best!
Hooray!! I hope you come live by us!
wowie! i admire you in many ways.
funny or cruel, depending on how you look at it, that nyu should be last. i think you’re more patient than i am, because this isn’t even my life, and i’m DYING to find out about nyu.
the truth: i have a secret fantasy that we’ll get into dental school there and all end up in the same crazy city.
if we do end up at nyu– by some miraculous act of divine intervention (for us, not you), i’d be honored to help watch junior when you get busy with classes/studies/other things.
i know, i’m getting a little carried away.
Congratulations Lizzie! I hope you get into NYU, but if you do end up in Indiana it will be nice to have you near by.
Diana, we would love love love it if you went to NYU too! Nothing like familiar faces in unfamiliar places. (not that I am counting on getting in) And we’d love to exchange baby-sitting duties with you. I think Myra could teach me a lot about dancing.
Congratulations, Lizzie! Well, even if you go ALL the way to New York instead of cozy Indiana, we’ll still love you and come visit you.
We’ll keep our fingers crossed!
Your so amazing! I’m really impressed, and can only assume that anyday now you’ll get your acceptance letter from NYU!
