We have enough interest that the Peep Show will go on! It will be smaller than previous years, but that is okay. :)
All-O-ver, Ol-i-vore . . . we're learning that Oliver's name has some fun mispronunciations.
Also, ask him what is name is and this is what you'll hear: "My name is Oli . . . Oli . . . Oliv . . . Oli . . . I don't know."
Here I am at SFO. Again. What should have been a 40 minute layover has turned into a 5 hour layover with merely a possibility of getting on the red-eye at 10:30. Flying standby. And if I don't get on the standby flight . . . they tell me my next shot at JFK isn't for 24 hours. Yeah. So let's hope that doesn't happen. And if I don't get on standby, well, there's got to be another way home.
S: Oliver, Is Mom a child of God?
O: Yes!
S: No, Mom is a grown up!
The one night -- ever -- when Micah and I get to bed at 10:00 and could, feasibly, get 9 hours of uninterrupted sleep, Simon wakes up crying inexplicably at midnight and can't go back to sleep, Oliver falls out of bed, and we're all out a couple of hours of sleep. Clearly we need to never try to go to to bed early. It's the only way to get a good night's sleep around here.
If we were to have an ultrasound today, I’m pretty sure it would be something like this:

Personally, I think Micah is jealous that I get to feel it and he doesn’t. I’m sure the novelty will wear off at some point. Our real ultrasound is in ten days–that’s December 7th, if you wanted to mark it on your calendars (you can be sure it is marked on ours). So far we’ve had lots of votes for a girl and two votes for a boy. Anybody want to change their vote? Anybody who hasn’t voted yet want to take a stab? You’ve got a fifty-fifty chance of being right . . . .
Other than that, all I can say is it certainly is squirmy. Especially when I decided to try lying on my stomach last night . . . I don’t think I’ll be doing that for another five months.
Just a few thoughts:
a) that has got to be the coolest picture ever
b) I nearly died laughing while I read it
c) I hope your child is so cool that it will actually sing that song
d) For some reason I could totally hear Micah saying, “Stop kicking your Mother.”
e) For some reason I’ve always thought of it as a boy.
Okie dokie. I think it is a girl. What do you think of the name Hannah? Oh, and when are you going to post some pictures of your growing tummy for all to see?
Hannah is a cute name, although I think it is more popular than we would like at this point. And I don’t think we could do Hannah Heiselt. I’m wary of naming alliteration. You can probably look forward to pictures next week when we get some of the baby, too.
Too funny! No, I don’t think the novelty of a living child doing the hokey pokey in your belly ever really wears off. It’s pretty much the coolest thing ever. I kinda miss it. Though it does get slightly less comfortable as time goes by. It’s still just groovy.
And, nope, no switching votes, I still think it’s going to be another boy for the Heiselt clan.
